Part I: Summary Description

The Exterior Installation Specialist, reporting to and working closely with the Exterior Supervisor, will have a hand in many elements of our exterior department. They will be responsible for completing exterior plant installations, assisting with plant design and ordering of new plant materials, overseeing the installation team, coordinating new installs, and leading installation, replacement, and maintenance of exterior landscape service according to HDG standards. The ability to handle a variety of tasks is essential for this role.

Part II: Essential Duties

  • Design seasonal exterior plant installations

  • Execute day-to-day operations of the exterior landscape installation services

  • Assist in scheduling daily tasks including providing appropriate materials and equipment

  • Communicate with clients to ensure customer satisfaction during and after installations

  • Ensure use of proper horticultural practices with plants, planting, and maintenance duties

  • Exercise safety at HDG facility, on the road and at each job site

  • Maintain a consistently professional appearance and pleasant demeanor with HDG colleagues and clients

  • Assist in keeping a clean work environment by ensuring completion of daily workspace maintenance tasks

  • Assist with unloading of deliveries to warehouse

  • Assist with un-sleeving and un-boxing of all plants within 24 hours of receiving

  • Daily horticultural reporting of actions taken during installation or maintenance duties

  • Daily communication of client feedback, job status, equipment problems, etc

  • Daily reporting of vehicle assignment

  • Daily communication via HDG company Teams app

  • Timely completion of timesheets, expense reports and time off requests

  • Assist with fleet management, maintenance, and cleanliness

  • Assist with vehicle washing every other week and assure that trash and debris are removed from vehicles daily and cabs are swept clean

  • Other duties as assigned

Part III: Qualifications

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changes in the daily schedule

  • Excellent personal skills when interacting with the public, clients, and co-workers

  • Ability to follow instructions, verbal or written

  • Ability to use general computer programs

  • Ability to use computerized hand-held telephone systems with training

  • Must have, or develop in a reasonable time, a knowledge of plant material, identification and planting techniques, and the consistent ability to successfully maintain and install exterior plants and flowers

  • Demonstrate the desire to learn new tasks and assume new responsibilities

Part IV: Education and Experience

  • Minimum high school diploma or the equivalent

  • Must have an interest in horticulture

Part V: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Must have valid Driver’s License and be in possession of it at all times

  • Personal vehicle must be fully insured

Part VI: Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: $18-$22 per hour based on experience
